Smaller & Smaller Dollar

We can imagine that the impact of the falling dollar is spreading across many US-supported ministry families in Europe. For us, this means that gas prices are well over $5 per gallon and our rent has increased 40% in the last two years without our landlord ever raising it. From another perspective, we’re doing more work, we have 7 years on the job, and we have a larger family — but we have taken a paycut of over 50% since we moved here.
So, don’t forget about us.
Europe’s missionaries are all in for a rough time. Here’s a graph that I saw today that illustrates the decline:

Falling Dollar Graph
Translating this graph — in 2002, you could trade 1 dollar and get 1.14 euro — Today in 2004, you can trade $1 for only .69 euro.

  1. Rob,
We haven’t forgotten about your work in Italy. In fact we miss you and our church family. We just had a missionaries conference last month and have had heard similiar reports from the field. Please send us the church mailing address so that we may help you to continue the work of Christ. God will make a way where there seems to be no way. You know this better than anyone else. We will keep you in our prayers and would like to commit to whatever support we may provide to keep the light shining for weary souls. Keep up the fight and run the race to the end. The finish line is close so start leaning toward the line. Thank you for stepping out in faith for such a tremendous work. Be courageous!

  2. Dear Krauses’ It was great to see you at our church on Sunday. Please tell gentle Ben for me that I am praying for him and his family in the loss of his Dad. Also, the rest of the group that you had listed on the prayer list. In Him Pauline
