So, my wife and I wrote down this specific prayer request into our discipleship journals. We could sense the Kingdom importance in the request and knew that time and money were both on someone else’s side.

The next day, my good buddy and almost blood-brother Brad Strable dropped an investment into our family’s worship. I said, “Wow, this is really happening.” Then in March, we had saved a couple hundred dollars for the project. In April, my Aunt & Uncle, Ron & Marge Carlson, wanted to “help our family with a project specifically for us.” Fully generous & always surprising, the Carlsons moved us closer to the mark. We knew right away what to place that seed toward — because we had already been praying about it.

So, I went out shopping for the Clavinova. I saw the one that I had written about back on February 19th. But, the price was beyond our reach. It was putting us over $2200. Now, the exchange rate has been dropping and costing us an extra 5-10% on everything in the last couple months. And that rowdy rate coupled with $6.10 a gallon gasoline was taking chunks out of our hopes.

But the Lord had some more surprises because He really likes it when we talk about Him on this blog and to our friends. The following week, our neighbor Leila came over and said, “Hey, there’s a new teacher in our school who is selling a Clavinova. It’s just under 2 years old and has been in storage for the last 10 months. When her household goods arrive, you can take a look at it.”

Well, last week we went up to her house and when we walked in — there sat the same brand, same color, & same feature-set clavinova that we had studied at the store. So we asked, “How mucha you wanna’ fo’ it?” And she told us, “I’d like to sell it for 1500.” We told her we’d think about it and get back with her in the next couple days.

After talking to the Lord, checking prices, and seeing that the model she was selling actually had a couple more digital features than we were expecting, it made perfect sense to go for it. So, on Monday, May 15th, we went to pick it up in our friend Davida’s truck (thanks “Fida”!).

When we spoke again with the lady and she knew that it was going to be used for ministry, she took another $150 off for us. So, in total, we were around 100 bucks out of pocket for this wonderful instrument.

On May 17th, Reilly became a piano-player. He’s been learning his notes, practicing his scales, and turning the Demo tunes on at 7 a.m. to wake the neighborhood up… so kind.

We want to thank the Strables & Carlsons for their investment!! May God bless you in turn!

There are a couple more pictures of the Clav in our photo gallery if you’d like to see those.

There are so many times that we do not have because we do not ask. It is also a joy-filled experience to ask according to the will of God.
